Recent CasesBarnett v. Rymanowicz Plaintiff, a 44-year-old female employed by a dry cleaning firm was visiting the defendant's home when a gun being shown by the defendant fired into a concrete floor. Plaintiff's eye was injured by concrete debris thrown up by the gun shot resulting in several surgeries, the loss of one eye, and subsequent need for a glass eye. Plaintiff's husband also claimed Negligent Infliction of Emotional Distress and Loss of Consortium. The case was settled for $850,000. A video demand depicting the daily care of the glass eye and allowing the plaintiff's to address the insurance company directly with Ms. Barnett's limitations was key to the result. Plaintiff's Counsel: David Britton Peel, TTLA, Millington
